The 4th week has come & gone with just a small group of volunteers working
on the dig. Emitt & Kelen Wilson were back for the 13th time, Barney
Trams was here for the umpteenth time & a few others rounded out the group
to 8.
Kelen found a quite beautiful glass bead with ribbing in area A west as seen in the 2 pics below.
It's Phoenician from the Hellenistic period. Good finding Kelen!

Barney headed up a small team in storage rooms south of chambers 1 & 2
inside the iron age main city gate. He's
completed restoration of a number of large iron aged vessels. Good job
Barney!

At Rami's request, Judith, with a little help from me, made a replica of an
iron age weaving loom using real iron age (~3000 years old) loom weights.
She started the weaving & brought it ove
r
to the volunteers at pottery reading time, showed them how to continue the
weaving & watched the progress over the weeks. Here's a pic of Rami
working on the loom.
