This week finishes the 24th season that Rami has been the director & has excavated at Bethsaida. Well done Rami!! Next year will be the "silver anniversary" of the Bethsaida excavation. Hopefully it will be a year of celebration, seminars, & another season of wonderful excavation. A season crowned with the staff & volunteers working together to uncover the continuing "story" of ancient Bethsaida. The 5th week was a continuation of moving dirt & rocks in order to expose structures, mainly from the Roman & the iron age periods. A couple of interesting coins were found in area A west. A Hasmonean coin from the 1st century BCE & a Roman? coin were the last of this season's special finds. Additional information is available in the various Facebook sites that have been created. Just go the httm://www.facebook.com/ & search for Bethsaida.
